Philadelphia Rockets
From 1946 to 1949, the Philadelphia Rockets were a short-lived AHL entry that rivaled the Philly Quakers in futility. In their first season, 1946-47, they won only five of 64 games, an AHL record that stands to this day. They also had the league's top scorer, Phil Hergesheimer, who had a 44-48-92 line. Despite Hergesheimer's success, the team allowed 400 goals while only scoring 188. The Rockets would improve – but remain bad – over the next two seasons, winning 22 and 15 of 68 games, respectively. After their third season in 1948-49, management decided to disband the team.
