Pittsburgh Shamrocks
In 1935-36, the Pittsburgh Shamrocks were a one-year wonder in the IHL. The club competed at Duquesne Gardens, sharing the rink with the EAHL's previously established Pittsburgh Hornets. Sprague Cleghorn, who won two Stanley Cups with Ottawa in the 1920s, would coach the squad. The Shamrocks went 18-27-1 in their lone season, finishing last in their division. The squad lost an estimated $40,000 ($820,000 in today's money) and would fold before the next season's training camp.
