Granby Bisons
The Granby Bisons were a major junior team for 14 seasons starting in 1981 when the Sorel Blackhawks relocated to Granby, Quebec. The team played at Aréna Léonard-Grondin.
The Bisons were not particularly successful on the ice, as they only made it out of the first playoff round once and only had a winning record a few times. The team's best season was 1986-87 when they went 48-18-4 but finished 3-5 in the first round robin and were eliminated. That season, Pierre Turgeon scored 154 points in 58 games that year for the Bisons.
The team has a number of notable alums including Turgeon, Patrick Roy, Stephane Richer, and Eric Desjardins.
The Bisons would rebrand as the Granby Predateurs in 1995.
