Erie Blades

The Erie Blades were formerly the Long Island Cougars, and they moved to Pennsylvania after the 1974-1975 season and changed their name. They would spend the following two seasons competing in the NAHL until the league went out of business. Both of the Blades' seasons in the NAHL ended with a finish just below .500.

Following that, the Blades would go on to have success in the EHL's rebuilt version during the 1978-1979 season. The Blades won the league championship in 1979, 1980, and 1981, giving them a perfect three-peat. For the 1981-1982 season, the Blades and the Baltimore Skipjacks would combine to form the new Skipjacks team in the AHL.
