Fayetteville Force
Beginning with the 1997-98 CHL season, the Fayetteville Force played in the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, NC. While the club only won 27 games in its inaugural season, it was well-liked in Fayetteville and drew around 4,000 people every game. The squad improved on the ice during the next several seasons, winning 35 and then 45 games. They had the best regular season record in the CHL in 1999-00, with 45 victories. Unfortunately, they were defeated by Macon in the first round of the playoffs. The Force disbanded after one more season in the 2000-01 season, when the league combined with the WPHL and dropped most of its eastern US franchises.
