Amarillo Gorillas

The Amarillo Gorillas started play in the 2002-03 season at the Amarillo Civic Center. The Gorillas were the same franchise as the Amarillo Rattlers, renamed after the team was sold to local owners in 2002. They were a part of the CHL and were pretty competitive for most of their time in the league.

For their first five seasons, they would win 30+ games each year and make the playoffs each time, although they would never make it past the second round. Their final three seasons, they would win a combined 62 games and miss the playoffs each year. The team would fold following the 2009-10 campaign.
