Amarillo Gorillas

The Amarillo Gorillas began the 2002-03 season at the Amarillo Civic Center. They spent some time in the CHL and the majority of that time was spent playing at a fairly competitive level. During their first five seasons, they averaged more than 30 wins each year and qualified for the postseason each year. However, they were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs each time. Over the course of their final three seasons, they won a total of 62 games, but were never able to make the playoffs again. The 2009-10 season was the team's last before disbanding.
