Abilene Aviators

The Taylor County Expo Centre in Abilene, Texas, served as home to the short-lived Abilene Aviators hockey team. They participated in the WPHL for 1 and a half seasons, beginning in 1998–1999. The club had quick success on the ice, winning 43 of their division's 69 games. They qualified for the playoffs and received a first-round bye. However, Fort Worth swept them in the subsequent round. Unfortunately, the Aviators' second season ended prematurely. They started the 1999–2000 season with a 6–16 record before collapsing after 26 games.
