Saint John Flames
The Saint John Flames played our of Harbour Station, in Saint John, New Brunswick. The team was sold and moved to Saint John from Utica, NY, in 1993. The team had a good run and made the playoffs in eight of their 10 seasons in Saint John. In 1997-98 they won 43 games and made it all the way to the playoff final before losing to the Philadelphia Phantoms. Another high water mark for the team was the 2000-01 season, when they won 44 games. They would make another run in the playoffs, knocking out Portland, Quebec, and Providence on the way. In the final, they defeated the WBS Penguins in six games to capture the Calder Cup. It would be the second Calder Cup won by a New Brunswick team, after the New Bruinswick Hawks.
