Philadelphia Ramblers

The Philadelphia Ramblers of the EHL were founded in 1955, using the name of a former AHL franchise in the city. They were never extremely successful on the ice, although they did reach the EHL championship game in 1957. After the 1963-64 season, the club packed up and relocated to Cherry Hill, NJ, a few miles across the Delaware River, to become the Jersey Devils. Ted Harris, who went on to have a long NHL career in Monteal and Minnesota, and John Brophy, an EHL great and former Toronto head coach, are two of the Ramblers' most notable alumni.
