Moncton Golden Flames
The Moncton Golden Flames were a short-lived minor league franchise that played out of the Moncton Coliseum in New Brunswick. The team operated for three seasons, from 1984 to 1987.
The Golden Flames were established in 1984 after the Moncton Alpines relocated to Nova Scotia. The team featured players from their NHL affiliates, the Calgary Flames and Boston Bruins. Several notable players suited up for the Golden Flames during their brief existence, including Brett Hull, Gary Roberts, Mike Vernon, and Geoff Courtnall. On the ice, the Golden Flames found success, winning 32, 34, and 41 games in each of their respective seasons. Terry Crisp coached the team for two of those seasons.
In 1987, the team was rebranded as the Moncton Hawks for the 1987-88 season.
