Saint Paul Rangers
The Saint Paul Rangers were one of the first five CHL franchises, debuting in 1963-64 and sporting the same colors as their pro partner in New York. The Rangers, coached by the famous Fred Shero, would fall in the CHL championships to the Omaha Knights in their debut season. They would make amends a year later by defeating Tulsa in the finals. Because adjacent Minneapolis lost their CHL franchise for the 1965-66 season, the Rangers renamed themselves to the Minnesota Rangers.
