Cape Codders
After the 1973-74 season, the Cape Cod Cubs rebranded as the Cape Codders. Because of their relationship with the New England Whalers, the Bruins-esque 'Cubs' moniker was presumably ruled out and they went with the unique 'Codders' moniker. The Codders made the playoffs in their first season but ran into financial difficulties in their second. They went out of business in December 1975. The Codders, unlike other teams who collapse during the season, would return a few weeks later in February. They'd conclude the season having played 18 fewer games than the rest of the league before collapsing for good.
