Columbus Golden Seals
The Golden Seals were Columbus' second of three IHL ventures at a hockey team. When the Checkers disbanded in 1971, the Golden Seals were launched at the Ohio Fairgrounds Coliseum as the new franchise. They were a farm team for the NHL's Seals and had two bad losing seasons. They won only 25 of 146 games in their two years of existence and folded following the 1972-73 season. Their major league counterparts didn't endure long, as the California Seals relocated to Cleveland in 1976.
