Knoxville Knights
The Knoxville Knights were Tennessee's first professional hockey club, joining the Eastern Hockey League (EHL) in 1961-62. After spending a season as the Jersey Larks in New Jersey, the Knights had relocated south to Tennessee. They'd play there until 1968, when the squad folded owing to financial difficulties. Former NHL coach Pat Quinn, who played with the Knights in 1963-64, is among their most prominent alumni. Knoxville's hockey legacy lives on today, as the city boasts an SPHL club, the Knoxville Ice Bears who play in the same arena the Knights once did.
