Louisville RiverFrogs

If you could capture the essence of the 1990s into a design, the Louisville RiverFrogs' Rowdy River Frog could be the ideal representation. Funky typefaces, unusual colors, and an unusual frog combine to create a genuinely 90s minor league hockey crest. WLKY described it as "kitschy," with a "alarming large lime green frog" as the mascot. Check out this video for the ultimate 1990s experience, which also demonstrates that the unusual typeface made its way onto the jersey nameplates.

From 1995 to 1998, the RiverFrogs played three seasons in Derby City at Broadbent Arena. At the games, they were recognized for a wide range of activities, including hot tubs in the arena. They were well-liked, but it didn't keep them in town for long. After three seasons, the team was sold to a consortium who relocated them to Miami and renamed them the Matadors.
