Jersey Knights
After failing as the Golden Blades in New York, the Jersey Knights rebranded and relocated to the Cherry Hill Arena in Cherry Hill, NJ midway through the 1973-74 season. The Arena was available since the EHL's Jersey franchise had folded the previous season. The Knights went 18-10-1 in New Jersey, despite the fact that the facilities were far from professional. The ice was famously sloped, requiring one of the teams to skate uphill for two periods of the game. The off-ice facilities were extremely subpar, with one team even having to dress in the hotel prior to the game due to the lack of a locker room. The Knights were sold at the end of the season and relocated to Southern California to become the San Diego Mariners.
