Welland Cougars

The Welland Cougars were a Junior B hockey team from Welland, Ontario from 1977-2004. The team played in the Golden Horseshoe Junior Hockey league. They were three-time league champions in 1978, 1980 and 1983. In 1990, the team rebranded and went through a few name changes before coming back to Cougars in 1994. The reborn Cougars were significantly better and posted a .600+ win percentage six times in ten seasons. Their NHL alumni include Ray Emery, Cal Clutterbuck, Pal Bissionette, and Dan Girardi.
