Nashville Ice Flyers
The Nashville Ice Flyers were a Central Hockey League team that existed from 1996 to 1998. For the 1996-97 season, the team was known as the Nashville Nighthawks before altering their name and logo for the following season. Both seasons, the squad played in Nashville Municipal Auditorium.
They were dreadful in 1996-97, finishing with a 12-52-0-2 record and firing their coach mid-season. In year two, they completely overhauled the roster and witnessed an astonishing turnaround. They'd win 41-19 and go to the playoffs. They would sweep Huntsville in three games in the first round. Unfortunately, they were eliminated in the second round by Columbus, the league's top club that season. After that, the team would disband when Nashville's NHL franchise started play.
