Long Island Jawz
The Long Island Jawz moved into the Nassau Coliseum for the summer of 1996 as a member of Roller Hockey Int'l. The squad had an awesome shark logo and was solid on the rink as well. In their only season, they went 16-9-0-3. Glen Metropolit, who scored 71 points in 28 games went on to play eight seasons in the major leagues.
RHI didn't endure long, but the Jawz would be even more fleeting. Almost immediately, the team clashed with Coliseum management about commercial signage and advertising. They'd call it quits after just one summer.
