Houston Apollos
The Houston Apollos, formerly known as the Omaha Knights, were a founding member of the CHL. After the 1964-65 season, they relocated to Houston to compete in the space race as the Apollos. The club spent four years in Houston, failing to make the playoffs and exiting in the first round. They wore the same red and blue as their pro affiliate in Montreal. After the 1968-69 season, their pro affiliation relocated them north of the border to Montreal, where they became the AHL's Voyageurs. The Apollos were temporarily revived in the late 1970s, from 1979 to 1981, after Houston's WHA club folded. This squad would forego the red in favor of hues of blue and white as its primary colors. They dissolved 33 games into their second season.
