Border City Bandits / Texarkana Bandits
Playing in only the 2000-01 season, the Border City Bandits were a one-year wonder in the CHL. They skated at Texarkana, Arkansas's Four States Arena. The Bandits were destined to fail since the squad was badly managed and lacked the cash to support itself. The squad would only play 51 games and would not finish their first full season. During this time, they had two head coaches and three general managers. They would also concede more than twice as many goals as they scored, scoring 132 but allowing 283. The franchise was disbanded by the CHL shortly after its final game, an 8-0 home loss to Tulsa on February 13, 2001.
The next year, the squad would be reincarnated as a junior team, competing in the Gulf Coast Hockey League. They'd stay there for a year before heading to the NAHL for three seasons. In that league they were coached by future Cup winner John Cooper and Patrick Maroon. The franchise would relocate to St. Louis in 2006 after three seasons.
