About This Item

The Thunder Bay Twins were a Senior A hockey team that played from 1970 to 1991 out of Fort William Gardens in Thunder Bay, Ontario. The team was originally formed when the cities of Fort William and Port Arthur merged in 1970 to create Thunder Bay. At the time, each city had its own Senior A team: the Fort William Bearcats and the Port Arthur Beavers, both with storied histories. These teams also merged to form the Thunder Bay Twins.

The Twins initially joined the USHL when it was still a semi-pro Senior league in 1970. They enjoyed a solid five-year run in the USHL, which culminated in an Allan Cup victory in 1975. After that, the team stayed closer to home and joined the OHA Senior A league for the 1975-76 season. During this time, Bill Goldthorpe played four games for the Twins, racking up 69 penalty minutes.

The team was a dominant force in Senior A hockey during the 1980s, winning the Allan Cup in 1984, 1985, 1988, and 1989, for a total of five championships during their tenure.

The Twins' run came to an end after the 1991-92 season as the new Colonial Hockey League (CoHL) was set to arrive at Fort William Gardens, effectively leading to the team's demise. The CoHL expanded with the Thunder Bay Thunder Hawks, who later changed their name to the Senators and then to the Thunder Cats before leaving in 1999.

Premium Lightweight T-Shirts

Our premium lightweight shirts are the hugely popular Bella+Canvas brand 3001 tees. They are much lighter and thinner feeling than a traditional heavyweight tee. They also are more form fitting and feel more snug. These are generally 90% to 100% cotton, although please note that heather colors in this item are 52% cotton.

Size Guide: Fit is true to size or a little snug. Considering ordering one size up if you are normally between sizes.

Hockey Jersey Size Chart

Generally speaking, the jersey sizing for adults is consistent with official NHL replicas from recent years. We strongly encourage consulting the size chart provided and comparing the measurements to jerseys you currently own. For a loose, traditional style jersey that will easily fit over a hoodie or sweatshirt, order your normal jersey size (i.e. if you buy Adult XL from the NHL, Adult XL is your best bet). If you are generally between sizes, we recommend the smaller size (i.e. if you sometimes wear L and sometimes wear XL, we recommend L).

The sizes below generally equate to numbered jersey sizing as follows, but use this as a guide and not a rule.

Small - 46, Medium - 50, Large - 52, XL - 54, 2XL - 56, 3XL - 60

If you are dissatisfied with your order or would simply like to make a return, please contact us as soon as possible using our contact page. We will do our best to make everything right! Please provide photos of any damaged, defective or erroneous products received.

Return & exchange timeframes: Please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order to initiate a return. Returned items must be shipped back (postmarked) within 30 days of delivery to be eligible for a refund. Refer to "extended holiday returns" for our winter holiday return timeframe.

Extended Holiday Returns: For holiday returns, all orders placed between October 1st and December 31st are eligible for return through January 31st as long as the product is returned in the condition in which it was received.

Return costs: We will refund 100% of the original purchase price net of any discounts. Original shipping costs are non-refundable. Buyers are responsible for paying return shipping costs except in situations where we provided a damaged, defective or erroneous product. If you received an item that was damaged, defective or otherwise erroneous please provide a picture of the item when contacting us so that we can confirm the issue.

If the item is not returned in its original condition (i.e. it is ripped, torn, smelling of smoke, or otherwise damaged), the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.

Returns must be started within 30 days of the jersey's ship date by contacting us at canada@vintageicehockey.com.
Extended holiday returns/exchanges: items ordered between October 1st and December 31st are eligible for return/exchange through January 31st.
Customer pays return shipping (unless item was received damaged/defective/in error).
Jersey returns for blank jerseys* are not subject to a restocking fee. Jersey must be received back in like new condition to be eligible for refund (i.e. not ripped, torn, smelling of smoke).
Custom jerseys** are NOT RETURNABLE unless the jersey arrived damaged/defective or the size/name/number received does not match the order as entered by the customer at checkout.
Original shipping costs are not refundable

Exchanges for blank jerseys* are not subject to a restocking fee.
Jersey must be received back before a new jersey is shipped.
Exchanges for blank jerseys* are subject to availability of a replacement jersey. It may take 2-3 months for back ordered jerseys to arrive in stock.
Custom jerseys*** are NOT ELIGIBLE FOR EXCHANGE unless the jersey arrived damaged/defective or the size/name/number received does not match the order as entered by the customer at checkout. It may take as much as 8-12 weeks for us to provide a corrected jersey.
Original shipping costs are not refundable.

Mystery jerseys are FINAL SALE and not eligible for return or exchange unless the product was damaged during shipping.
