Timmins Golden Bears
The Timmins Golden Bears were a junior A hockey team from Timmins, Ontario. The team played in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League from 1991 to 1999, winning the league title in 1995. Former big leagues Dan Cloutier and Steve Sullivan both played for the Golden Bears, with the latter earning the nickname of the Timmins Tornado. In 1991-92, Sullivan scored 66 goals and 121 points for Timmins. In 1999, the Golden Bears would move to nearby Iroquois Falls.
