They were also famously portrayed in, and an inspiration for the cult-classic \u003cem\u003eSlapshot\u003c\/em\u003e.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe have recreated the Ducks' sweaters from their first season as the Ducks in 1961-62, with some liberties taken on their chest logo. Pictures of the logo used on that jersey are scant -- and also varying since the logos didn't arrive in time for the first game -- so we improvised a bit with a beautiful Duck logo that can be found in a Ducks program from 1962-63 and on pin back buttons from the time. The red and white striping pattern with red shoulders on a black base is true to form for their first two seasons as the Ducks when players such as Gillies Villemure, John Brophy, and Don Perry donned them after driving themselves to away games. Yep, back in this era of the AHL the players carpooled to the games, there was no team bus or flight but that did come later as the Ducks bought their own airplane later on! \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eVintage Ice Hockey's knit sweater collection celebrates the roots of the game, replicating the classic sweaters worn by hockey players everywhere during the first half of the 20th century.
